Children’s Wellness Center
Light is essential to life, sustaining ecosystems and nurturing the growth and well-being of all living beings. Just as light shapes and sustains life, it also creates an atmosphere of renewal and hope.
The design of the Children's Wellness Center draws inspiration from nature, with organic, asymmetrical shapes that mirror the harmony found in the natural world. A warm color palette echoes the comforting embrace of light, creating a peaceful and welcoming environment.
The natural light throughout the space fosters a sense of calm, inviting
children and their caregivers to feel safe, supported, and open to growth.
The Process
Going into this project, I knew I wanted the space to feel welcoming to everyone (not just the children, but their caregivers as well). This felt like the perfect opportunity to dive into research on what makes a space truly healing. I explored studies on optimal healing environments and how thoughtful design can positively impact chronically ill patients. Using those findings, I intentionally incorporated elements that support comfort, calm, and emotional well-being, allowing the design to be both meaningful and effective rather than purely aesthetic..
